Tyler Cooper
Welcome! I'm Tyler Cooper, and I have dedicated the past nine years to teaching and mentoring students in Marcellus, NY. My journey in education has been fueled by a passion for preparing the next generation for a successful and fulfilling future.
- Teaching Experience: Over the past nine years, I have had the privilege of teaching and guiding students at Marcellus High School. During this time, I have seen firsthand the transformative power of education in shaping young minds and preparing them for the challenges ahead.
- Independent Studies Program: One of the proudest achievements is the creation and development of the Independent Studies Program. This initiative has provided more than 60 local students with unique opportunities to engage in professional projects and build valuable connections in various industries. Through this program, students have been able to explore their interests, develop critical skills, and gain real-world experience that will serve them well in their future careers.
- Educational Background: I hold a Masters in Education, which has equipped me with a strong foundation in teaching and curriculum development. Currently, I am completing an MBA program, with a particular focus on project management. This additional qualification will enhance my ability to bridge the gap between education and industry, ensuring that our students are well-prepared for the demands of the modern workplace.
My Passion
I am deeply passionate about empowering the next generation to be confident and proactive in their pursuit of fulfilling careers. My goal is to inspire students to discover their strengths, develop essential skills, and make informed decisions about their future paths. By providing guidance, resources, and real-world experiences, I aim to help students build the confidence they need to thrive in their chosen careers.
Jennifer Welch, PhD
Hello! My name is Dr. Jennifer Welch. Over the past three decades, I have dedicated my career to advising and mentoring students through my work as a school counselor, admissions advisor, college admissions dean, and owner of an educational advising company. I love helping students figure out "what's next" in their personal, educational, and professional lives.
- College Admissions Experience: I have worked in College Admissions since 1993. My work started at a small, private Liberal Arts and Sciences College and transitioned to a specialized, public university. During this time, I have advised thousands of students on their educational journeys with a focus on their strengths, personalities, and interests to help them find the right "fit".
- Independent Advising Experience: I recently started my own company, Holistic Admissions Advising, helping students to find their way into various college, medical school, law school, and graduate school programs.
- Educational Background: Navigating the complex landscape of career, educational, and college interests can be daunting for students. With an undergraduate degree in Economics, a Master's Degree in School Counseling, and a PhD in Higher Education, I am uniquely equipped to guide students through these critical decisions. My comprehensive understanding of economic principles, coupled with specialized training in school counseling, allows me to offer personalized advice and support. Additionally, my doctoral expertise in higher education ensures that I stay current with the latest trends and best practices, providing students with the tools and insights they need to achieve their academic and career goals. Whether it's choosing the right college, exploring career options, or developing a strategic educational plan, I am dedicated to helping students succeed and reach their full potential.
